    In detail

    When which one fits

FlowPro NG · NET Service Solution s.r.o.

A self-hosted security platform that combines log management and SIEM, a NetFlow/IPFIX/sFlow collector with anomaly detection, Suricata IDS, a honeypot and vulnerability tracking with EPSS and CISA KEV in one package. It is built on Elasticsearch, ClickHouse and Kafka and installs from packages on Ubuntu 24.04.

    Pricing model
A free version (5 agents, 1 flow source) and annual licenses by number of agents (Core 50, Security 200, Enterprise unlimited), not by data volume.
    Best for
Small and mid-sized organisations and NIS2-regulated entities that want logs, network flows and vulnerabilities in one self-hosted tool, with predictable pricing and Czech-speaking support.

    Wazuh · Wazuh, Inc.

A widely adopted open source XDR and SIEM platform, free to run on your own infrastructure. Its main strength is the endpoint: an agent with host-based intrusion detection (HIDS), file integrity monitoring, configuration assessment and vulnerability detection, backed by a large community.

    Pricing model
The open source edition is free; the managed Wazuh Cloud has monthly plans by number of active agents and data retention.
    Best for
Teams with in-house Linux and security expertise whose priority is protecting servers and workstations (HIDS, file integrity) and who want open source with no license fees.

    Elastic Security · Elastic N.V.

SIEM and endpoint protection built on Elasticsearch and Kibana, with a large set of prebuilt detection rules and hundreds of Elastic Agent integrations. Its big advantage is flexibility: data, queries and dashboards can be shaped almost any way you like, self-managed or in Elastic Cloud.

    Pricing model
Self-managed licenses by nodes and RAM (core features free), Elastic Cloud by resources, and the serverless offering by GB ingested and retained.
    Best for
Organisations with in-house engineers who want to build a tailored solution, need a wide range of integrations or already run the Elastic Stack.

Splunk Enterprise Security · Splunk (Cisco)

One of the most widely used enterprise SIEMs, run on your own infrastructure (Splunk Enterprise) or as Splunk Cloud. It stands out for scale, the SPL query language, risk-based alerting, SOAR and UEBA integration and a huge app ecosystem on Splunkbase.

    Pricing model
Quote-based; for Enterprise Security Splunk offers ingest-based, workload-based or activity-based pricing.
    Best for
Large organisations with their own SOC and budget that need to process very large data volumes from many sources and use a broad ecosystem of apps and partners.

    Progress Flowmon · Progress Software

A specialised flow-based network monitoring and network detection and response (NDR) solution, originally from Brno and now part of Progress Software. Its strength is deep network traffic analysis: collectors and probes supporting NetFlow, IPFIX, sFlow and more, plus the ADS module for behavioural anomaly detection.

    Pricing model
Quote-based; hardware, virtual and cloud appliances in several capacity models, with a 30-day trial.
    Best for
Organisations and providers with large networks that need specialised, high-scale network traffic and performance analysis and already have, or will buy, a separate SIEM for logs.

    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

Is FlowPro NG an alternative to Wazuh?

Partly. Both run on your own server and have a free version. Wazuh is strongest on the endpoint (HIDS, file integrity, configuration assessment) and is open source. FlowPro NG adds a built-in NetFlow/IPFIX collector with anomaly detection, Suricata IDS, a honeypot, vulnerabilities with EPSS and KEV and an add-on for NIS2 reporting to log management, all in one interface. If you mainly need server protection and have in-house specialists, Wazuh is a good choice; if you also want visibility into your network, FlowPro NG is worth a look.

    Why not Splunk?

Splunk Enterprise Security is a powerful and highly extensible SIEM for large organisations with their own SOC. Pricing is quote-based and Enterprise Security has no free edition. For small and mid-sized organisations, predictable cost and low operating effort often decide: FlowPro NG is licensed annually by number of agents, not by data volume, and has flow collection, IDS and vulnerability tracking built in.

What is the difference between FlowPro NG and Flowmon?

Flowmon is a specialised network traffic analysis and NDR solution with deep flow and network performance analysis, deployed as appliances. It does not collect server and application logs and is usually combined with a separate SIEM. FlowPro NG combines flow analysis and 17 network anomaly detections with log management, detection rules, endpoint agents, IDS and vulnerability tracking. For large networks where performance and depth of network analysis matter most, Flowmon is stronger; if you want network and logs in one tool, FlowPro NG is the better fit.

FlowPro NG uses Elasticsearch. How is it different from Elastic Security?

Elastic Security is a very flexible toolkit: you assemble integrations, rules and dashboards yourself, and some features, such as machine learning anomaly detection, require a paid tier. FlowPro NG uses Elasticsearch for logs and ClickHouse for network flows and delivers them as a ready-made solution: guided installation, prebuilt views for flows, IDS, vulnerabilities and NIS2, and a Czech, English and Spanish interface. If your team wants to build a tailored solution, Elastic makes sense; if you want a ready-to-use tool, choose FlowPro NG.

Does FlowPro NG help with NIS2 compliance?

Yes, on the technical side. Log collection and retention, incident detection, network monitoring and vulnerability tracking cover many NIS2 requirements. The NIS2 Compliance Pack add-on adds 130+ automated controls across 6 frameworks (NIS2, ISO 27001, CIS, GDPR, SOC 2, PCI DSS) and PDF reports for auditors. Organisational measures such as policies and risk management, however, cannot be met by any tool alone.
